Waaww! Can’t wait to get back. And now that Easyjet are flying direct from Edinburgh instead of via Stansted, we can get there quicker.
After eight days at Ericeira on October 2007 (see separate articles), we drove down to Lisbon for five days, meeting up with Brian and Liz who had flown in direct from London. Needless to say, we were a bit more chilled than they were! Chilled, but at 24 degrees C, not cold. Elaine, yet again, found us a great apartment, this time smack in the middle of the city, on Rua Garrett, perfectly placed for getting to the old, winding streets of Alfama leading up to the castle, the lively commercial hub of Baixa, and the restaurants and clubs of the Bairro Alto, and just 50 yards down the road from the famous Cafe Brasileira that became our daily caffeine and cake provider.
A colourful, exciting, happening, safe place with plenty to see, do, eat and drink and take photos!
